Burried in work

[fa:p:a=72157600109355201,id=1405191065,j=l,s=s,l=p]Well I’ve been quite heavily buried in work lately. I have a large portion of my project at work due at the end of the week. For those who don’t know, I’m writing a Project management software using PHP, MySQL and a little JavaScript to help manage just about every aspect of a project from the instant we even think about doing it until the project is completely done. Most of the actual project management functionality is done, what I have to finish by the end of this week is the Invoicing / Timekeeping systems in preparation of creating a Job Costing system.

Believe it or not, the hardest part about this Invoicing system is that the main user is absolutely stuck in her ways, and many of the things she does don’t seem to be based in any sort of viable logic. For instance, she wants me to write this Invoicing module, but what she is going to do is use it to generate an invoice (or at least the information for one) and then manually type it up in word. Oh well, not really my concern, I’m going to write the program to just create a mail-able invoice in case I ever change her mind.

I also bumped up my subscription with Rhapsody to their Rhapsody To Go service, which allows me to download all the music I want and put it on my DJ for no additional costs. I’m pretty happy so far, although the battery on the DJ seems to be just at the edge of being to small. It lasts a day at work, but just barely. Its also a little slow, but I’m not sure if that’s because of a slow processor in the DJ, or because of the DRM protection.

I should probably get back to work though, got lots to do and little time to get it done.
