2002 Nissan Altima 2.5s For Sale

I listed my Altima today with cars.com. For a direct link to the car listing click here. Everything about the car is listed there, but there are only 12 pictures. To see the whole gamut of pictures check out my recently updated gallery for my 2002 Nissan Altima.

To Amy & Jessica

I figured since I told you go here to get the pictures from over the weekend I should help you to find them.

Just click on the mild mannered picture of Jessica and Kellen below to see the gallery.

And if you aren’t Amy or Jessica, you can still enjoy lots of cute puppy pictures in this gallery too. :-)

Rivercats Baseball Game

I went out to the Rivercats game today, they are the local AAA team for the Oakland A’s and generally not a bad team. The tickets and dinner beforehand at the Rio City Cafe was all curtesy of CJS Lighting. I took my camera out and took about 150 pictures, most of them are trash, so you likely will only see around 25, and for now I’ve only processed 13. Couple of interesting events, a sketchy call at second base got the away teams coach out on the field for a lavishly long yelling session with the ref, that got him kicked from the field, and shortly after the Rivercats loaded the bases and brought home 3 guys on in infield error. But instead of recapping the whole game for you which would be boring, I’ll just show you a pretty picture and direct you to the gallery where you can find the rest of them.

This particular picture was actually a mistake, at least in part. I had the camera focused on the batter, but at the last second as I want to depress the shutter the autofocus locked on to the net and this is what I got. I actually liked it because its something diffrent, its not the typical baseball picture, the focus is on the guy on deck, both literally and figurativly, instead of on the batter. So I’ll step down from my poetic soapbox and let you enjoy the picture for yourself. Click the image to see the rest of the pictures.

Sunset

[fa:p:a=landscapes,id=465608104,j=l,s=s,l=p]The nice thing about this time of year and living in a valley is that we get red sunsets fairly often, I finally caught one and snapped about 50 pictures playing with camera settings and framing, this was my favorite.

New Place

I’m a little tossed at the moment but I’ve been wanting to post this for a while now, but keep getting distracted. The place that I said we were waiting on an answere for fell though. The owners changed their minds about Jens dog, Tac (Tack … sp?). But after a little bit of diliberating we decided to put in an apilication for another place. Not the top on my list based on looks, but a nice place all the same. Pictures to follow. Anyway, we got the place last week so its official, december first or later I will be moving out and starting on my own. It is highly likely that I’ll come back tomorrow and correct serious spelling and gramatical errors in this post, but for now I’m going to chug this wanter and pass out. Piece out.

—Followup—

Hmm, I dont remember posting this. Anyway, its pretty much all there made some minor gramatical corrections :-P . Otherwise, all I’ve got to add is some pictures:

Waiting

I faxed my application for the house today, Mike and Jen faxed theirs yesterday so now, we just wait. Apparently there is concern from the owners about Jen’s dog. I hope that doesn’t kill the deal. Mike was going to meet with the property manager to give the deposit and discuss the dog issue this afternoon.

I was able to collect up a few more pictures of the house, some of them are thumbnaild below. To see the rest of them click here. Wish me luck

House Hunting

First, apologies for my last post, a little out of character to be so vague, but I was wrestling with my mind (I think I won) and needed somewhere to vent.

I spent most of this weekend looking at houses for rent with Mike and Jen. We pretty much got it down to two places we like. Both in Elk Grove. I took some pictures (less than I would have liked). This one seems to be the front runner because it has the fridge, washer and dryer as well as water, sewer and garbage paid for. I think the other choice was a much nicer place, but the rent is a little more and it doesn’t include anything except grounds keep. Since none of us has a fridge, washer or dryer we would have to buy those too.

Pictures Galore

I just spent the better part of a couple hours combing though the huge mess of pictures that my dad has on his computer, and I grabed all the pictures that were of interest to me, and I’ve published most of them in my gallery. Below are links to all of the galleries with new pictures along with a quick description.

In my lifetime I’ve actually owned only 3 cars, and had 1 more that my dad gave me to use. In order they were: 1965 Chevy Pickup, 1995 Nissan Hardbody (Dad’s), 1990 Eclipse GSX and my current car; 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5S. At the moment, I only have pictures of the Eclipse, and the ’95 Nissan truck:

Below are a few somewhat random galleries, so I thought I would group them all together. The first is a few pictures from my senior prom, well getting ready anyway. The car is a Chrystler 300M (dont remember the year) that my boss loaned me for the day. Next we have some pictures from a weekend cabin trip to Shasta. The guy with the beard is Charlie, my boss, and the owner of the car in the Prom gallery.

Next we have a few galleries of my oldest group of friends. First is a LAN party we had. Before the advent of Broadband internet, we used to do this kind of thing all the time. I still kind of miss it, it was a great time for us to get together and just have some fun. The second gallery is from a visit to Cal Poly where Kevin and David were going to school.

Chrismas, 2000 all the way though 2004, each gallery is then seperated into my Dad’s side and Mom’s side of the family. Not all the years have pictures from both sides though, and 2004 has an additional ‘Kyle & Kerry’ album. They are in order below from 2000 to 2004

And lastly, Thanksgiving 2003 and 2004. We usually only visit my moms side of the family for Thanksgiving, so those are the pictures you’ll see.

Sorry there isn’t much more of a description if thats what you were after, but its hard when you’ve added this many pictures to get into any detail.

Happy Halloween

Halloween falls on a Monday this year, which is a little hard to deal with if you are actually trying to trick or treat, but it makes for good parties over the weekend. Saturday night Keith, Chadd, Meghann and I did a little pre-game warm-up carving to get into the mood (actually Keith and Meghann weren’t going to be able to make it to the big event Sunday night, so this was their party). Keith, Chadd and I did some fairly typical pumpkin carving. Keith’s and mine are designed to go together, originally Keith’s was going to be puking on top of mine, but after all the carving was done we decided it would look better the other way around. Meghann’s Pumpkin was the definite winner of the night. She started by taking a bit of time to come up with a totally original design and draw it out while the rest of us watched my completed Philmont video. Then she took probably about an hour to carve a magnificent pumpkin that expresses a design that I think is pretty novel. I’m sure you can see what it is, but just in case you cant it’s a girl holding an axe toward her like she is going to strike her face, because there is a spider dangling in front of her. Below are a couple of the good pictures, or click here to see the whole gallery:

I was able to get together with friends again Sunday night for our second (now annual) pumpkin carving party. Irene and Charlie were kind enough to host the gathering at their place again this year so I thank you goes out to them. We had a nice pot luck dinner around 4:30. My favorite dish was probably Michelle’s Meatballs, but the desert of choice was Joanne’s Pumpkin Cheesecake bars. We started carving around 5:30 or so and a couple of us didn’t finish until around 8. I did two pumpkins myself, one is a cannibal pumpkin, the other is designed for putting a large flame in, either a road flair or a toilet paper roll soaked in some kind of slow burning fuel (like kerosene). Below are a couple of the good pictures, or click here to see the whole gallery:

A diet I can stand behind

Geoffrey McCaleb of IdiotAbroad.com has laid out a diet I totally agree with. I’ve tried to express this same idea to friends before, but Geoffrey wraps everything up much better than I can.

Last but not least! Always ask yourself, is this how they ate 50 years ago? 100?
Why is this one so important? Well, do you remember seeing so many obese people in pictures and paintings back in the day? No, of course not. Because those people didn’t eat chicken nuggets. Those people didn’t supersize. Those people couldn’t afford meat for every meal, so veg was a more important staple than it is now. I’m not trying to get all naturist on you, but you should really care about the kind of food you eat, and the way that food was brought to your table.

One thing I think he may have left out is the benifit of eating right goes way deeper than loosing weight, it can help you feel good and actually help you look better too. The saying “You are what you eat” is true, if you eat a lot of greasy foods your skin will be greasy. Eating healthy can clear up your complection noticiably.
