Remove a stuck print job in Windows

Paper jam?! I'll give you a #$@% paper jam! - By Legozilla

I have often recived a call, or gone out to a site where there is a print job stuck in the print que on the server that is holing up everything. You can try to cancel the job at the printer, or at the server. You’ve tried to restart the server and restart the printer but the print job just sits there staring at you the whole time. While not quite as bad as upsetting as the famed “PC LOAD LETTER” error it can still make you want to chuck your printer and/or computer off the roof.

So how do you purge the vexing print que? Its actually easier than you might think. It only takes three lines typed in to your command prompt (you can do it through the Windows GUI too, but its easier this way).

Taking “A Break”

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you cannot sleep

When you lose something you can’t replace …

Burried in work

[fa:p:a=72157600109355201,id=1405191065,j=l,s=s,l=p]Well I’ve been quite heavily buried in work lately. I have a large portion of my project at work due at the end of the week. For those who don’t know, I’m writing a Project management software using PHP, MySQL and a little JavaScript to help manage just about every aspect of a project from the instant we even think about doing it until the project is completely done. Most of the actual project management functionality is done, what I have to finish by the end of this week is the Invoicing / Timekeeping systems in preparation of creating a Job Costing system.

Believe it or not, the hardest part about this Invoicing system is that the main user is absolutely stuck in her ways, and many of the things she does don’t seem to be based in any sort of viable logic. For instance, she wants me to write this Invoicing module, but what she is going to do is use it to generate an invoice (or at least the information for one) and then manually type it up in word. Oh well, not really my concern, I’m going to write the program to just create a mail-able invoice in case I ever change her mind.

[fa:p:a=72157600109355201,id=1406078500,j=l,s=s,l=p]I bought a new Digital Music Player. A Dell Pocket DJ. I also bumped up my subscription with Rhapsody to their Rhapsody To Go service, which allows me to download all the music I want and put it on my DJ for no additional costs. I’m pretty happy so far, although the battery on the DJ seems to be just at the edge of being to small. It lasts a day at work, but just barely. Its also a little slow, but I’m not sure if that’s because of a slow processor in the DJ, or because of the DRM protection.

I should probably get back to work though, got lots to do and little time to get it done.
