Fancy Formatting

I’ve been going through all my old themes and plugins and migrating them into github repositories (more to come on that later, including an updated projects page). In doing so, I remembered a feature that I had added to a style I created called Evincere. Original credit (as far as I can tell) goes to Kirk Montgomery who used it on his Sawchuk Scheme.

Basically, the idea is to provide a large number of pre-formatted paragraph eye candy that can be used anywhere in the site. The icon in the paragraphs are from Mark James’s silk icon set. I’ve added it to this theme so without further adieu:

This is a note

Example download link

$> echo ‘this is code’

Alert, this stands out

This is under construction

How about some information

New features!

Re-do, again, for the second time, all-over

I think I’ve spent more time changing this site that adding content. Most notably, I seem to flip flop form light to dark.

As is always the case, there are things that need to be tweaked to get them working right. I’m liking* the concise front page though.

Anyway. I just wanted to post something up since its been a long time and I didn’t want you to think you’ve gotten lost in somebody else’s site.

Bug Reports & Feature Requests

I’ve added a page by the same name to the site, under my portfolio for issues with the styles and plugins I’ve created. Its actually an embedded Wufoo form.

So if you have a feature request, or a bug report or an idea on how to make something better than it is, head over to the Bug Reports & Feature Requests page and submit a new issue!

I’ll get a text message to my phone when an issue is submitted, so rest assured submissions wont go un-noticed!

Thank You Princess Paupr

a little left of center and a little outta tune

Support Pink for October

Pink for October

Web sites will Go Pink during the month of October to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, get people talking about breast cancer, and raise money for research.

But to be clear, raising money isn’t the primary purpose of this web event.

The hope is that you turn your site pink (in whatever way works for your site), go out to that World Wide Web thing (in fact you’re on it right now! :) ) and educate yourself about the multiple issues related to Breast Cancer, then take that newfound knowledge and tell someone else what you’ve learned.

- pinkforoctober.org

Please join me in going Pink for October. I’ve created a K2 style for the occasion, and a plugin to show your support for the event.

First Site Using Evincere

shotssnapcom.jpg

http://liulei.name/ is the first blog I know of (besides mine) that is using Evincere. Its kind of exciting! Except that I can’t read anything posted on the blog (without the help of a translator), and it appears that the owner of the blog removed the line at the footer that credits me with its creation (BOOO!)

But Technorati caught the link as a reaction before it was removed.

Evincere Released

I released Wowhead Filter, with a massive overhaul to the Evincere page and an update the the K2 styles page (which at the moment seems to be having errors).

Anyway, if your are running K2 and want a style like what I’ve got on the site now, feel free to download it and help me make it better.

Evincere

Its still not done, but I like it better already. Evincere is the name for the clothes my site now wears. Evincere is a style (not its own theme) for K2 which is acting as an awesome template base for the entire site. I will however need to create some widgets to get some of the things I want, without having to modify K2 itself. But discussion on that topic is for another post

I’ll be working on finishing up the theme thought the next few days (maybe weeks) and at the same time, there is a lot of content on the site that has gone out of style (quite literally). For example the Scion page, which had a well fitting style in the theme it was created in, in Evincere, the page is wholly broken. And a new page, my Portfolio needs to be built completely, for now its a mostly empty shell.

Other things are done though, like the Archives page, which has the extremely cool Extended Live Archives, which lets you drill down to find posts. I feel bad abandoning Archivr, since afterall I am the author, but Archivr was more of an introduction into the world of WordPress plugins anyway.

The RSS feed works again, so I encourage you to add it to your favorite feed reader again. Also, the new theme still uses Gravatars in the comments, so if you don’t have a Gravatar, get one now.

There are lots of things still rolling around in my head that I would like to take care of tonight, but its nearly 1:30am, and I am supposed to meet a client at their office tomorrow at 5am… I should probably crawl in to bed.

Theme Switcheroo

Yes, I changed the theme again … no, I don’t like it either….

It’ll be changing again soon :P . In the mean time, sorry for the mess
